A. Search for Security: AUKUS and the New Militarism is a new edited collection out from Melbourne University Press that advances a heterodox analysis of the AUKUS security compact. Mark Beeson (University of Technology Sydney); Rebecca Strating (La Trobe University); and Van Jackson (Victoria University of Wellington) are amongst the contributors. Jackson’s work on strategic culture has influenced my own research program and he is an exemplar model for effective composition writing.
B. James D. Watson who co-discovered DNA has passed away. His career has recently been the focus of race realist and reactionary authors, due to his hereditarian views. This late-in-life controversy has overshadowed the rest of his research career; his sustained original contributions; and his philanthropic fundraising record.
